Chinese Style Kung Pao Chicken Recipe

Kung Pao chicken is a sweet and spicy stir-fry dish with a combination of fresh veggies and chicken chunks. This popular homemade Chinese food Originated in the Szechuan province of China. It’s made with chunks of chicken, veggies, legumes, peanuts, and obviously, chilli peppers. It takes less than an hour to ready.

  • 400 gm chicken boneless, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 red pepper 1/2″ diced
  • 1 green pepper 1/2″ diced
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic grated
  • 1 tbsp ginger grated
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes or 3 dried red chilies
  • 3 green onions thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup dry roasted peanuts
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dry sherry
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • ½ cup low sodium chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp Apple vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Step 1: Take a container, and combine chicken, soy sauce and cornstarch.

Step 2: Take another small container and mixed dry sherry, brown sugar, chicken stock, Apple vinegar, and sesame oil.

Step 3: Heat a large container, and add vegetable oil.

Step 4: Now add chicken chucks, and cook it until brown at medium flame.

Step 5: Add other ingredients such as red pepper, green pepper, onion, garlic, ginger, red chilies.

Step 6: Add the point second ingredients.

Step 7: Continue cooking until chicken 100 per cent cooked.

Step 8: Garnished with green onions and peanuts.
