List the Purposes of Interviewing in Social Casework.

The different purposes of interview are:

Obtaining and Imparting Information: Social worker receives and gives information which is in regard of matters of offices, functions of agencies and the roles of a social worker.

Study and Assessment of the Clients Situation/Problems: Information collected by the client is sorted out and linked with a picture. Worker has to collect the information Which is in relation to the problem of the client. Social worker applies the knowledge in understanding the situation and solving the problem of the client.

Interview as a direct tool for giving help: Information collected speaks out about the assessment and even serves as a blue print where the mode of help is decided. Interview is a channel of direct help and even the first contact between the worker and the client.
