What is Manchow soup?
Manchow soup is a soup found in Indian-Chinese cuisine owing to the simple preparation, and sexy spicy flavor. It’s offers in a number of restaurants and street food packs equally. Even though the soup is called after Manchuria it doesn’t resemble some that’s normally found at the restaurants of the area.

Ingredients for Manchow Soup
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 inch ginger, finely chopped
- 2 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 2 chilli, finely chopped
- ½ onion, finely chopped
- ½ carrot, finely chopped (Optional)
- 3 tbsp cabbage, finely chopped (Optional)
- 1½ tbsp mushroom
- ½ capsicum, finely chopped (Optional)
- 5 beans, finely chopped (Optional)
- 2 tbsp coriander stem, chopped (Optional)
- 4 cup water
- ¾ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp vinegar
- ½ tsp pepper powder
- 1 tsp chilli sauce
- 1 tsp cornflower
- ¼ cup water, for slurry
- 2 tbsp coriander, finely chopped.
Add the finely chopped vegetables which you like or available at the moment.
Instruction for Manchow Soup Preparation
Now take, a large kadai or pan heat 2 tbsp oil, add ginger, clove garlic, chilli, and onion until it shrinks slightly.
Now add carrot, cabbage, capsicum, beans and coriander stem and other vegetables which you want to add. And Stir fry for a minute without overcooking them.
Add 4 cup water and add ¾ tsp salt, “mix well”. And Boil until all the flavors are well absorbed.
Now add 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp vinegar, ½ tsp pepper powder and 1 tsp chilli sauce and mix it once again.
Now the time to make it thick, this is fully optional step if you don’t like thick soup, then you can avoid this step. Take a small bowl, and add 1 tsp cornflour and mix with ¼ cup water. Pour the cornflour slurry and stir well. Stir and boil until the soup thickens slightly and turns glossy.
Now add 2 tbsp coriander and give a good mix. Now, enjoy a veg manchow soup recipe topped with fried noodles, bread, rice or as it. If you are taking manchow soup without any toppings, then add ½ teaspoon finely chopped raw onion. Raw onion makes the taste 1000 times better than as normal. And enjoy your soup now.
