Wanted criminal Vikas Dubey killed in encounter in UP: Police
Wanted criminal Vikas Dubey was killed in an encounter on Friday after a police vehicle carrying him from Ujjain to Kanpur met with an accident, and he tried to escape from the spot, a senior police official said.
Inspector General of Police (Kanpur) Mohit Agarwal stated Dubey was murdered in the encounter after he attempted to flee from the area following the road accident at Barra place in Kanpur.
Agarwal said Dubey attempted to flee together with the inspector”s pistol but had been surrounded by the police team and he was injured in an exchange of fire.
He was hurried to the hospital where he was declared dead.
“Dubey was injured in the encounter and he had been declared dead in the clinic,” ADG Kanpur variety, J N Singh explained.
The officer confirmed that Dubey”continued accidents”, but didn’t confirm to what extent, saying it could be shown in the postmortem report.
Eight policemen, including DSP Devendra Mishra, were ambushed in Bikru village at Chaubeypur area of Kanpur if they were going to arrest Dubey and fell to bullets fired from rooftops shortly after midnight on July 3.
Earlier, five associates of Dubey gang had been killed in separate experiences.
While on July 3, two of his partners, Prem Prakash Pandey and Atul Dubey, were killed by police in an encounter in Kanpur, on July 8 the police killed the other aide, Amar Dubey, who carried a reward of Rs 50,000, in Maudaha village in Hamirpur district.
On July 9, two more aides of gangster Vikas Dubey, wanted in connection with all the Kanpur ambushthat were killed in separate encounters in Kanpur and Etawah districts.
Even though Kartikeya alias Prabhat was killed in Kanpur once he attempted to flee police custody, the other aide of Vikas Dubey, Praveen alias Bauwa Dubey, has been shot dead in an experience in Etawah.
Kartikeya, who had been detained from Faridabad on Wednesday, was brought to Kanpur on transit remand when he grabbed the pistol of a policeman and attempted to flee.
