What were the political trends which developed during the Swadeshi Movement.
A number of political trends surfaced during the Swadeshi Movement. The moderates went on having faith in British sense of justice which was in strap contrast with the prevalent aggressive air against the British. A group of social reformists of nationalist emerged which endeavored to connect rural people with the urban. They established village upliflment societies. Swadeshi educational processes and all this with the motto of Atmasakshi (self-help.) The third trend was the emergence of political extremist group. They demanded self-Government of India with absolute `Swaraf meaning no British traces at all. These extermists gave vent to their ideas through periodicals and newspapers like New India editor, Bipin Chandra Pal, Sandhya, editor Brahmanbandhava Upadhyaya etc.
